Deleting Items
How to remove items you no longer own or need in your inventory.
When you get rid of something — sold, donated, thrown away — you can remove it from Ginkgo.
Deleting a single item
- Open the item
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top right
- Select Delete item
- Confirm the deletion
Deleted items are removed immediately. This action cannot be undone.
Bulk delete
To delete multiple items at once:
- Browse to a location or search for the items
- Long-press an item to enter selection mode
- Select the items you want to delete
- Tap Delete and confirm
”Archive” vs “Delete”
If you’re not sure whether you’ll need an item again — for example, an item you’ve put in long-term storage or lent to someone — consider marking it as Inactive rather than deleting it. Inactive items don’t appear in normal search results but can be accessed from Settings > Archived items.
To archive an item instead of deleting:
- Open the item
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋯)
- Select Mark as inactive
What if I delete something by mistake?
Deleted items cannot be recovered. If you delete something accidentally, you’ll need to add it again. This is one reason we recommend using the “Mark as inactive” option when you’re uncertain.
We’re working on an undo feature for accidental deletions — it’s on our roadmap.
