Sync Issues Between Devices or Household Members

What to do when your inventory isn't appearing the same on different devices.

Ginkgo syncs your inventory across all your devices and with your household members in real time. If things aren’t looking the same, here’s how to fix it.

Pull to refresh

The quickest fix: pull down on the main inventory screen to force a refresh. This triggers an immediate sync with the server.

Check internet connectivity on all devices

Each device needs an internet connection to sync. If one device was offline when changes were made, it may be showing a cached version. Connect to the internet and pull to refresh.

Check that you’re signed into the same account

It sounds obvious, but make sure all devices are signed into the same account. Go to Settings and check the email address shown at the top — it should be the same on all devices.

Wait a moment

Sync is usually near-instant, but occasionally there can be a short delay during busy periods. Wait 30 seconds and try again.

One household member’s changes aren’t appearing

If changes made by one household member aren’t appearing for others:

  1. Ask the person who made the changes to confirm they were saved (not just typed but actually saved)
  2. All devices should pull to refresh
  3. If changes still don’t appear after a minute, ask the person who made changes to sign out and back in

Changes from months ago are missing

If you’re seeing data from before a certain date and recent changes are missing, this may indicate an account sync issue. Contact us at hello@getginkgo.uk with details of when you last saw the data as expected.
