Inviting a Household Member
How to invite someone to share your Ginkgo inventory.
Sharing your inventory with your household makes Ginkgo much more useful — everyone can find things and keep the inventory updated.
How to invite someone
- Go to Settings > Household
- Tap Invite member
- Enter their email address
- Tap Send invitation
They’ll receive an email invitation. If they already have a Ginkgo account, they can accept with one tap. If not, the invitation will guide them through creating an account first.
Pending invitations
Invitations that haven’t been accepted yet appear under Pending in the Household settings. You can resend or cancel a pending invitation from here.
What household members can see and do
By default, all household members have the same access:
- View the entire inventory
- Add new items
- Edit existing items (including changing locations)
- Delete items
If someone leaves the household, their access is removed immediately. Items they added remain in the inventory.
Household size
During early access, each household can have up to five members (including the account owner). This limit may change after launch.
Leaving a household
If you want to leave a household (for example, if you’ve moved out or set up your own account):
- Go to Settings > Household
- Tap Leave household
- Confirm
Your account remains active but you’ll no longer have access to that household’s inventory. Your own items (if any) will remain accessible in your account.
Transferring ownership
The household owner can transfer ownership to another member from Settings > Household > Transfer ownership. This is useful if the person who set up the account is leaving the household.
